Impressions, 2023-24

Impressions is a series of oil paintings that delve into past and memory. With heavy reference to found familial photographs and childhood experiences, the oil paintings act as a visual representation of looking back into ones’ childhood and fading memories. They can only contain the parts of our memory we retain, the rest a foggy blur filled in by shape and colour - the memory never fully complete. The result - a fragmented image, or an impression.
